Nearly half of the 18.6 million registered voters in Texas have already cast ballots.
Why it matters: More than 9 million Texans could still vote today in the presidential election.

The intrigue: Despite this year's high early voting turnout, it's unlikely the record set in 2020 will be toppled any time soon. About 57% of registered voters — more than 9.7 million people — had already voted before Election Day in 2020.
To accommodate for the pandemic, Texans had nearly three weeks to cast their ballots, per WFAA.
Zoom in: Dallas County lags the turnout in other large Texas counties with about 45% of registered voters already having cast a ballot in person or by mail, per the Texas secretary of state.
About 58% of registered voters in Collin and Denton counties have voted.
