Cribl raises over $300 million to build data infrastructure

Cribl, a San Francisco-based data infrastructure startup, raised $319 million in Series E funding led by GV at a $3.5 billion valuation.

Why it matters: We rarely see rounds of this size anymore for Silicon Valley tech startups that aren't focused on artificial intelligence. In fact, Cribl's PR email to Axios explicitly said that it is not an AI company.

Cribl does have an AI copilot product, but its focus is on helping companies organize their ever growing piles of data.

Details: Most of the round is primary capital, but it also includes a $119 million secondary tranche.

Oher investors included GIC, CapitalG, IVP, and CRV.
The company now has raised over $600 million in primary funding, most recently at a $2.45 billion post-money valuation in early 2022.
