These 25 movies are now officially part of U.S. film history

State of play: The selections for 2025 date back to the silent film era. The newest film is 2014's "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

• "Brooklyn Bridge" was among four documentaries selected for the registry — it's the first Ken Burns film to be preserved.
