The Timberwolves are sure to be one thing: Entertaining

The intrigue: Sicko Wolves fans who watch preseason games already got a taste of what could be to come: Two guards who can break down defenses and a roster capable of raining three pointers.

• Plus, Ball could finally unlock Rudy Gobert on offense thanks to his lob passes.

Yes, but: Acquiring Ball came at a cost. The Wolves had to dump the salary of Julius Randle and send fan favorite Naz Reid to the Hornets. The departures of those two power forwards drastically changes the team's identity, which used to be big and physical.

• They'll depend on smaller players like Ant, Ball, and Ayo Dosunmu to rebound and, at times, trade body blows with guys 50 pounds heavier.

Threat level: They're one injury to Gobert away from having to rely on a 19-year-old Joan Beringer to man the middle for 30 minutes a game. He's a promising prospect, but is still raw.

Between the lines: Those weaknesses are why most experts aren't completely buying the Wolves, who have won five playoff series in the last three years, including two conference finals appearances.

• Most pundits put them in a second tier of teams with a chance to win a title, though they got the most votes for dark horse contender in The Athletic's season preview.

What's ahead: The Wolves season tips off at 6:30pm tonight in Miami. The first home game is Sunday against the Toronto Raptors.
